Starting at ¥536,600! GWM’s Super Hybrid Heavy-Duty Truck Launches, Ushering in a New Era for Long-Haul Logistics

BAODING, China — On June 25, GWM Motors held a grand launch event themed “More Than Just Savings” to unveil its G-Series hybrid heavy-duty trucks. Multiple models of the G-Series made their debut, drawing industry-wide attention and offering a new benchmark solution for long-haul logistics.

At the event, two support vehicles that participated in the Taklimakan Rally this May, along with two user vehicles with over 100,000 km of operational mileage, were on display. This provided attendees with a direct demonstration of the G-Series trucks’ outstanding performance and reliability.

“Full-Chain Value Enhancement” Redefines the Next Generation of Heavy-Duty Trucks

Driving Domestic Brands Upmarket

The newly launched G1050 hybrid truck features GWM Commercial Vehicles’ fully in-house developed chip-level power management system and dual-motor DHT hybrid transmission. It delivers up to 1,050 horsepower while reducing fuel consumption by 15%-25%, offering higher power with lower operating costs — truly embodying the “More Than Just Savings” philosophy. The G970 model, tailored for general freight and high-priority express delivery, is also set to launch soon, catering to diverse logistics scenarios.

Sun Yu, CTO of GWM Commercial Vehicles, emphasized that the company has moved beyond traditional R&D approaches by integrating the “full-chain value enhancement” concept across vehicle development. The philosophy focuses on helping fleet owners save money, streamline operations, and reduce driver fatigue, driving efficiency upgrades across the logistics sector. From laboratory tests to real-world road conditions, GWM’s heavy-duty trucks demonstrate that domestic brands have evolved from followers to innovators redefining the commercial vehicle industry.

Partners Share Experiences and Witness Product Strength

Showcasing Product Strength

Co-creation partners from across China shared their experiences at the launch. Jack Wei, Chairman of GWM Motors, reflected on the company’s initial dream of building heavy-duty trucks and his personal experience in hauling cargo. He described the G-Series as GWM’s “second entrepreneurial venture,” rooted in a long-term commitment to quality and innovation.

Tan Guoping, a trial user from Xiangyang, reported that after putting the GWM hybrid heavy-duty truck through two rounds of testing, he saved over 800 liters of fuel on a 10,000 km journey — outperforming both imported and other domestic trucks. After completing the trial, he immediately disposed of his old vehicle and eagerly awaited the new model’s official launch. Similarly, Fu Bangjie, head of a logistics fleet in Hubei, and Fan Qianjin from Xuzhou Yika, independently tested the GWM hybrid truck and unanimously decided to become dealers, promoting this “full-chain value enhancement” vehicle to more logistics fleets.

Yang Zhen, General Manager of Sichuan Derui, who has over a decade of experience in heavy-duty truck distribution, emphasized that only products with core competitiveness that truly meet user needs can stand out in the market. Impressed by GWM’s long-term strategic commitment and the proven quality of seven GWM pickup trucks already in her fleet, Yang joined the co-creation initiative as a dealer and formally expressed her intention to partner with GWM at the launch event.
